CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, SEPTEMBER 16, 2021 – LifeSpice welcomes Eric Werth to the R&D team as a Senior Scientist based in our Chicago office. Eric has twenty-two years of experience in the food industry, nineteen of which have been in R&D project management. Eric has been involved in the industry since his time as a contract employee to his roles as Principal and Senior food scientist. His expertise in food science paired with his passion for the industry make him a great addition to the LifeSpice team.
Eric began his career in the food industry at Griffith Foods immediately after graduating college, and in 2002 he began working with meat and snack customers developing new flavor concepts and products. In 2010, Eric was promoted to a Principal Food Scientist role, where for eleven years he led R&D projects and technical initiatives to develop new and optimized products for meat customers, providing him with experience he can carry into his time at LifeSpice. Adding to his qualifications, Eric is an RCA Certified Culinary Scientist, speaking for his involvement and knowledge of food science and the industry. When talking about what he enjoys cooking at home in his free time, Eric says that anything spicy or with roasted garlic are two of his favorites.
As a Senior Scientist at LifeSpice, Eric works with the Quality and R&D teams to create innovative flavors for meat and snack products, hoping to discover the next big flavor trend. When talking about his work in the test kitchen, Eric adds, “I’m passionate about developing new flavors, so I’m really excited to be a part of LifeSpice”, as he looks forward to growing his knowledge of snack processing and culinary flavor innovation. Eric’s food science experience and technical qualifications make him a great addition to our LifeSpice team.
