Fiery Pickle Smash Burger

Recipe: Casey Claflin

Ingredients

for the burgers

  • 1 lbs. 80%-20% Ground Beef
  • LifeSpice Awesome Anything Seasoning
  • 3 Slices of American Cheese
  • 6 Slices of Thick Cut Bacon
  • 1 Small White Onion
  • Pickle Pimento Cheese
  • Dill Pickles
  • Buns of Choice (we love potato or brioche)

For the Pickle pimento cheese

  • Favorite store-bought Pimento Cheese (or homemade if you have a favorite recipe)
  • 1-2 Tbsp. LifeSpice Fiery Cheesy Pickle Seasoning

Method

  1. Prepare your burgers by dividing the beef into 6 equal-sized portions, rounded into balls. Using a knife, or preferably a mandoline slicer, cut your onion into very thin slices.
  2. Bring a flat-top or heavy pan to high heat, and then reduce heat to medium high.
  3. Cook your bacon, and remove from heat.
  4. One at a time, place your beef on the hot surface and carefully smash your patties with a heavy spatula, as thin as possible. Season with LifeSpice’s Awesome Anything seasoning and add a heavy helping of onions on each patty.
  5. Cook until brown and crispy on one side, then flip and immediately cover half your patties with a slice of cheese. Place your buns on the other half to steam.
  6. Once your patties reach desired doneness, remove from heat, and stack your plain patties with your cheese patties.
  7. In a small bowl, prepare your pickle pimento cheese by adding LifeSpice’s Fiery Cheesy Pickle seasoning to your favorite pimento cheese spread.
  8. Assemble burger with bacon, pimento cheese, pickles, and your favorite condiments!
