LifeSpice Welcomes Jorge Angulo as Research Chef

CHICAGO, IL, June 17, 2026

LifeSpice is thrilled to welcome Jorge Angulo to our R&D team as our newest Research Chef. We’re excited for Jorge to bring his extensive culinary expertise and background working with a wide range of global flavors to our growing team.

Jorge’s passion for food began at a young age, working in restaurants as a teenager, where he developed a strong interest in recipe innovation. During these early years he attended the Technology Center of DuPage and competed in culinary competitions, ultimately earning a scholarship to the Culinary Institute of America. Jorge has a deep appreciation for cuisines from around the globe and enjoys experimenting with the fusion of different regional flavors, bringing creativity to every dish he develops.

After earning his Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts in 2017, Jorge built his career in the Chicagoland restaurant scene. Throughout his journey, he has worn many hats and thrived in fast-paced environments. He has managed restaurants such as Avli Winnetka, Celeste, and Hiro Izakaya, and has been part of the opening team for twelve restaurants over the past decade, including VELA Bar y Cocina, Lure Fishbar, and Porto. In addition, Jorge founded his own consulting group, El Dos Consulting, where he helps independent restaurants improve efficiency and boost profitability.

In his role at LifeSpice, Jorge will collaborate closely with our R&D, Quality & Regulatory, Sales, and Marketing teams to develop innovative seasoning blends. While new to the seasoning industry, Jorge has a deep understanding of food and flavor. His strong culinary foundation provides a unique and valuable perspective for our team. Jorge is especially excited to work in this new environment, creating seasoning blends that combine creativity with scientific precision, tailored to our clients’ needs.

Jorge was drawn to LifeSpice for the opportunity to explore a new sector of the food industry. After years in the fast-paced restaurant world, he was ready for a change that offers more structure and improved work-life balance. He is particularly excited to work on protein seasonings, reverse engineering projects, and seeing his innovations come to life in a new way.

Outside of work, Jorge enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, horseback riding, and spending time with his family. Welcome to the team, Jorge, we’re excited to have your fresh perspective at LifeSpice!
