Savory Honey Harissa &
Tangy Giardiniera Donuts

Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 4 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 tsp Instant Yeast
  • 4 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 3 Egg Yolks
  • 1 Stick Butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

For the Giardiniera Cream Cheese Filling

  • 2/3 Cup Heavy Cream
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese
  • 2 Tbsp Giardiniera (mild)
  • LifeSpice Tangy Giardiniera Seasoning, to taste

For the Honey Harissa Cream Cheese Filling

  • 2/3 Cup Heavy Cream
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese
  • 1 tsp Honey
  • LifeSpice Honey Harissa Seasoning, to taste

Method

For the Donuts

  1. Mix all ingredients together in Kitchen Aid with hook attachment, except the melted butter. Once ingredients are combined, add melted butter, and mix until the dough is smooth.
  2. Cover the dough and let it rest for 1 hour.
  3. Portion the dough into 40g (about 1/4 cup) pieces. Roll them into tight balls.
  4. Cover and let it rise for about 1 hour.
  5. Heat the frying oil to 340-350F and fry the donuts for 2 minutes on each side.
  6. Fill them with LifeSpice Tangy Giardiniera or Honey Harissa flavored cream cheese filling, sprinkle some seasoning on top and enjoy!

For the Giardiniera Cream Cheese Filling

  1. Whip heavy cream and set aside.
  2. Paddle the room temperature cream cheese with giardiniera and LifeSpice Tangy Giardiniera seasoning.
  3. Fold whipped cream into cream cheese blend to lighten the texture.
  4. Pipe into cooled donut.

For the Honey Harissa Cream Cheese Filling

  1. Whip heavy cream and set aside.
  2. Paddle the room temperature cream cheese with honey and LifeSpice Honey Harissa seasoning.
  3. Fold whipped cream into cream cheese blend to lighten the texture.
  4. Pipe into cooled donut.
