Everything Chili Crisp Dumplings
Recipe: Alex Heugel
These crispy pan-fried wontons are filled with a creamy mixture of cream cheese, aromatics, and our new Everything Chili Crisp seasoning, then finished with a delicate golden dumpling lace for extra crunch and flavor.
Ingredients
- 16 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 Tbsp green onion, minced
- 1 tsp garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp Everything Chili Crisp seasoning
- Wonton wrappers
- 2 Tbsp corn starch
- 1 cup water
- Sunflower oil
Method
- In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, green onion, garlic, ginger, salt, and Everything Chili Crisp seasoning. Mix until smooth and evenly combined.
- Place about 1–2 teaspoons of the filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Lightly moisten the edges with water, fold, and press firmly to seal.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the corn starch and water until smooth to create the dumpling lace slurry.
- Heat 1–2 Tbsp sunflower oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Arrange the wontons in the pan in a single layer and cook for about 1–2 minutes, until the bottoms begin to turn lightly golden.
- Pour enough of the corn starch slurry into the pan to form a thin layer around the wontons (about 1/2 cup, depending on pan size). Season the slurry in the pan with a little more Everything Chili Crisp seasoning. Cover and cook until the water evaporates and the lace forms a crisp golden web connecting the wontons, about 4–5 minutes.
- Remove from the pan carefully so the crispy lace stays intact and serve immediately.
