Lifespice Welcomes Kyle Young as Mix Technician
CHICAGO, IL, july 11, 2025
LifeSpice is thrilled to announce that Kyle Young is joining our team as our newest Mix Technician, based in our Chicago office. We are eager to have Kyle’s food science and culinary expertise on our team!
Kyle grew up with a passion for cooking and chemistry, which inspired him to pursue a degree in Food Science with a concentration in Culinary Arts from California State University. After college, Kyle returned home to Chicago and gained hands-on culinary experience working as a chef at the Fairmont Hotel.
While Kyle has a deep appreciation for all types of cooking, he is especially passionate about Soul food and Asian cuisine. Kyle’s love for soul food stemmed from his childhood, while his appreciation for Asian cuisine developed throughout various trips to Chicago’s Chinatown. Now, Kyle enjoys creating innovative fusion dishes from these two cuisines. He even runs a catering business centered around Soul x Asian fusion dishes. In the future, Kyle hopes to open a fusion restaurant of his own.
As a Mix Technician, Kyle works closely with our R&D and Culinary Teams to accurately measure and blend seasoning samples tailored to various batch sizes. When looking to join the LifeSpice team, Kyle appreciated the welcoming culture and emphasis on work-life balance. He has enjoyed learning about the seasoning development process and how to properly scale raw materials. Kyle looks forward to gaining more experience in this role and hopes to develop innovative seasoning blends as a food scientist one day.
Outside of work, Kyle enjoys exploring Chicago, working out, playing video games, and experimenting with Soul x Asian fusion recipes. Some of his favorites are Kimchi Mac & Cheese and Ube Cornbread.
