Lifespice Welcomes Sharon Li as Food Scientist

CHICAGO, IL, January 17, 2025

Sharon Li LifeSpice is thrilled to welcome Sharon Li to our team as a Food Scientist. With a strong background in food science and product development, Sharon brings expertise and creativity to the team.

Sharon earned her B.S. in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Illinois and a Master’s in Sustainable Food Systems from Montana State University. She most recently worked as a Food Scientist at Mizkan Foods, where she gained valuable experience in product development and plant operations. She gained additional experience from her internships at FONA International, Blommer Chocolate, and Impossible Foods.

Sharon’s passion for food science stems all the way back from her childhood. Growing up, she enjoyed cooking with her family, and especially loved the bond that food created between her family and their Chinese culture. As she grew up, Sharon didn’t want to become a chef but still wanted to explore food as her career. This lifelong interest drew her to food science.

As LifeSpice’s newest Food Scientist, Sharon will work on our R&D team, collaborating with our Sales, Marketing, and Regulatory teams to create innovative, crave-worthy seasonings for our clients. Sharon is enjoying the collaborative culture at LifeSpice and is excited to learn more about new and challenging ways to develop seasonings. She particularly values the hands-on, creative aspects of her role, and has embraced the challenge of reverse engineering projects.

Outside of work, Sharon performs improv at The Annoyance Theater, attends live music events, and explores Chicago on long walks. A skilled cook and baker, she enjoys cooking with Mediterranean spices, exploring different Asian cuisines, and baking lemon bars & chocolate chip cookies. Welcome to LifeSpice, Sharon!
