Spicy Giardiniera Donuts

These golden, pillowy fried donuts are filled with a light, whipped cream cheese blended with giardiniera and our Spicy Giardiniera seasoning, then finished with a dusting of seasoning on top for a savory, tangy bite that’s equal parts unexpected and craveable.
Ingredients
For the Dough
- 4 Cups All-Purpose Flour
- 2 tsp Instant Yeast
- 4 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Cup Milk
- 3 Egg Yolks
- 1 Stick Butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp Salt
For the Giardiniera Cream Cheese Filling
- 2/3 Cup Heavy Cream
- 8 oz Cream Cheese
- 2 Tbsp Giardiniera (mild)
- LifeSpice Spicy Giardiniera Seasoning, to taste
Method
For the Giardiniera Cream Cheese Filling
- Whip heavy cream and set aside.
- Paddle the room temperature cream cheese with giardiniera and LifeSpice Spicy Giardiniera seasoning.
- Fold whipped cream into cream cheese blend to lighten the texture.
- Pipe into cooled donut.
For the Dough
- Mix all ingredients together in Kitchen Aid with hook attachment, except the melted butter. Once ingredients are combined, add melted butter, and mix until the dough is smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rest for 1 hour.
- Portion the dough into 40g (about 1/4 cup) pieces. Roll them into tight balls.
- Cover and let it rise for about 1 hour.
- Heat the frying oil to 340-350F and fry the donuts for 2 minutes on each side.
- Fill them with LifeSpice Spicy Giardiniera flavored cream cheese filling, sprinkle some seasoning on top and enjoy!
