Lifespice Welcomes Bob Schultz as a Food Scientist
CHICAGO, IL, August 13th, 2025
We’re excited to announce that Bob Shultz has joined the LifeSpice team as a Food Scientist! With a strong background in food science
and a passion for nutrition, Bob brings valuable expertise to our growing R&D team.
Bob earned his B.S. in Chemistry with a minor in Spanish from Kalamazoo College. While he was originally on a path toward the medical
field, he pivoted interests after discovering the powerful role nutrition plays in our overall health. Inspired to make a broader impact, Bob shifted his focus to food science with the goal of making healthy eating both accessible and delicious.
His journey took him to San Sebastián, Spain, where he earned a Master’s in Gastronomic Sciences from Basque Culinary Center. Since
then, Bob has helped develop cutting-edge plant-based proteins. He first worked at Simulate, developing plant-based chicken nuggets, and he later worked at Aquaculture, crafting plant-based seafood products.
At LifeSpice, Bob will focus on formulating innovative seasoning blends, with an emphasis on meat seasonings. He’ll collaborate closely with our R&D, Quality & Regulatory, Sales, and Marketing teams to ensure that our blends are both flavorful and perfectly tailored to our
clients’ needs.
Bob was drawn to LifeSpice’s welcoming culture and shares our team’s deep passion for all things food related. He’s especially excited to expand his flavor development skills into food products he hasn’t worked with before.
Outside work, Bob is an avid music lover, food blogger, and runner. Fun fact: he’s currently training for the Milwaukee Marathon this October! Welcome to LifeSpice Bob! We’re thrilled to have you on board and can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make here at LifeSpice!
